About Us
Macquarie Darling Presbytery takes in a large portion of the state of NSW and includes hugely diverse regions, from the lush greenery of Lithgow and Mudgee in the east, to the sparsely populated dry soils of Broken Hill and Menindee. To the north we reach Coonabrabran and to the south, Parkes and Forbes.
The people in Macquarie Darling are as diverse! Young and old, sporty and academic, creative and technical - everyone contributes to their community, and is connected to their neighbours, their families and their fellow Uniting Church members. We come from many cultures and histories, and each of us has our story to tell.
Across the Presbytery there are many different industries and commercial ventures: agriculture, education, hospitality, medical, sporting, retail. We work collaboratively to keep our communities alive.

Presbytery Minister
Rev Martin Levine serves as the Presbytery Minister for the Macquarie Darling Presbytery, bringing broad experience across rural, regional, suburban, and city-based ministry, as well as leadership in theological education, chaplaincy, and not-for-profit organisations.
Martin’s approach to ministry is deeply relational, shaped by listening, discernment, and a conviction that God is actively at work in local communities — often in quiet, faithful, and unexpected ways. He is particularly passionate about helping congregations rediscover their purpose, strengthen local leadership, and explore hopeful and faithful expressions of church, especially in rural and ageing communities.
